When Tekesha Saffold became blind at 26, she had a real hard time using the word, "blind."

But, through the years, she's learned to proudly accept the term, "blind" and as part of her work at the Lighthouse of the Palm Beaches, she has helped newly blind people come to terms with their own blindness.

Dave has been blind since birth.  Dave went to a mainstream school, and not, as he says, a specialist school.

Dave points out that the folks who went to the specialist school are sometimes in for a shock when the real world isn't as accessible as it was in school.

We also talk about how both the sighted and blind communities should give each other a little more grace to create more understanding.
