No matter the obstacle, you can get through it!
That's the mantra that Flo Dudek, administrator of The Blind Side of Cooking With Flo on Facebook, lives by.
After multiple surgeries on her head including brain surgery, she lost most of her vision, and much of her hearing. But, she carries on, often inspired by her dad who lived a full life with polio.
Flo's got a special tip on how to get your kids to eat veggies, and how to make hot dogs taste extra special in an air fryer. You will love her Sriracha Burger which you can find on our website: www.cookingwithoutlookingtv.wordpress.com

Mary Sanders has been blind since birth.
She's been through a myriad of schools---both public schools and schools for the deaf and the blind. She was taught that she wasn't allowed to use her blindness as an excuse for not doing chores such as laundry and cooking.
Find out who was better at teaching cooking: a sighted teacher or blind teacher. Learn how she makes her hot, hot, hot crockpot chili.

You may be blind, but you have to find a vision for yourself.
Jane Butler went blind in the prime of her life. At first, she just sat and let others bring her food, give her rides and help her out. But, that got old fast...
So, she decided to pick herself up, and figured out what she would do for others. Jane now volunteers for several organizations as well as her church.

Learn how to accept your blindness. Life is not over.
Those are the words of Rudy Welch, President of the National United Society of the Blind Barbados. He admitted to becoming so depressed after going blind from diabetic retinopathy. Rudy was so depressed that he contemplated suicide.
But, one day he was hungry. So he went to the store, picked up something, and went home to cook it not only for himself, but for his family as well. After he cooked that meal, he was lifted from his depression. Listen and find out what that magical meal was.
Rudy shares a very typical Bajan food.

Alba Milla was blind from birth with retinitis pigmentosa. At the time, her parents couldn't get any answers about what was happening with her eyesight. They were frightened, and even a little embarrassed, Alba says.
But, Alba says that parents of children who are blind/visually impaired should surround themselves with other parents of visually challenged children. "When we support each other, we grow together," Alba says.
Alba owns her own business, and gives us a delicious recipe for a Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake.
